Clinical Practice Sessions for Graduates

This day includes two hours of classroom discussion and five hours of clinical practice with supervision and debriefing.

In this 1 day clinical practice, graduates will

• Demonstrate massage adaptations for various stages of illness

• Demonstrate flexibility and creativity in assessing props needed for a massage session

• Demonstrate the ability to gather information non- verbally through an understanding of the client’s body language

• Implement self-care for the practitioner while in session

• Prepare written and verbal reports of client sessions

• Understand and describe confidentiality guidelines on and off site

• Demonstrate nonverbal support, through deeply listening to other team members

Technique and Quality Assurance (Not Scheduled for 2019)

The intention of this day is to deepen the graduates' knowledge and integration of the following Learning Objectives:

Upon completing this module students will be able to:

• Describe 2 quality assurance methods as taught in class

• Define and demonstrate Therapeutic Presence

• Explain and demonstrate the multi- dimensional relationship of touch as it is taught in this class

• Demonstrate healthy body mechanics while providing a massage session at the bedside

• Demonstrate comfortable propping for a client in side lying position

• Demonstrate 3 Everflowing  massage techniques in side lying position


NCBTMB Approved: Irene Smith is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education Approved Provider #1167.

The completion of this class, provides for 6 CE hours.
